The University of Lahore is opening new area of education and training with the rapid expansion of Financial Institutions in the country. There has been an urgent need of developing experts in the field of Commerce, Finance and Accounting. Although training of the professional accountants have been strengthened in the country by several national and international institutions, yet organized degree program in the discipline of Finance and Accounting are not yet available. School of Accountancy & Finance of the University of the Lahore, I understand, will go a long way in fulfilling this need.

It is also encouraging to note that innovative degree programs have been initiated both at graduate and undergraduate levels. Our highly qualified professional faculty is achieving this objective and developing manpower for public and private institutions.

I wish success to the Dean, of Management Sciences for the efforts he is making. I hope that they will keep in mind the recent advances in the field and will be able to leaven their teaching methods with new techniques.
