With rapid explosion of the knowledge and the advent of the Information Technology, new milestones are being added in each segment of Natural and Social Sciences. In the same vein Management Sciences are breaking new grounds. I am pleased to know that the faculty of Management Sciences of the University of the Lahore has brought about a major shift in its approach to the teaching of various disciplines in this field. This is evident from launching of School of Accountancy & Finance by the University of Lahore for the award of graduate and post graduate degree in Commerce and Finance. This has been a comparatively neglected area though much of this field was covered by non degree programs for the training of charted and cost accountants. The initiation of the degree programs by our School  of Accountancy & Finance will supplement the national demand for middle and higher order professional in this important field.

I am sure that efforts being put into the establishment of School  of Accountancy & Finance by its qualified faculty and the Dean will bear fruit. I have no doubt that a high class curriculum will be delivered by the school so as to prepare manpower of desired quality. I wish success to the organizers of this program.
